Beginning a blog

I am herewith starting a blog. Internet revolution, wait up, here I come.

I imagine using this public journal to comment on current affairs, developments in fields that interest me, and other people’s writings; point to more or less useful resources, including my own more serious writings; and blow off the occasional steam.

Caveat lector: These jottings are not necessarily intended to represent a mature, considered, balanced, comprehensive, and scholarly discussion. They will occasionally be polemical, light-hearted, or flippant in ways that other content on this site will not.

Your comments are very welcome (for the time being, as an experiment, you will not need to register to post comments, though you are welcome to register if you haven’t done so already — then you won’t have to wait for administrator approval to publish your comment). Please keep comments civil, short, and to the point, not so much for my sake, as for the sake of other readers.

I will blog in different languages depending on the subject and potentially interested audience. Occasionally, I may translate an entry into another language or two, but I will not do so as a rule.
