Courses
This is a section for courses I’m currently teaching, have taught in the past, or might offer. I somehow managed to spend seven years as a university employee without teaching duties, and that’s getting to be a long time ago, so it’s a pretty short list.
Norwegian
I have been teaching Norwegian (bokmål) as an evening course at the Ljubljana Faculty of Arts since 2015. Currently I offer a beginners’ course (A1 level), an intermediate one (A2) and an advanced intermediate one (B1). In 2024–5, I’m only teaching a beginner’s course.
Religion and human rights
I have taught modules on “Religion and human rights” as intensive postgrad-level courses in the religious studies programmes at the Norwegian Institute of Science and Technology in Trondheim (2002) and at the Center for Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Studies in Sarajevo (2007, 2010).
Culture and conflict
In the early 2000s, Torkel Brekke and I developed a course on “Culture and conflict”, offered by the Dept. of Culture Studies, U. of Oslo, and aimed at Norwegian defense personnel serving in missions abroad. I also co-taught the course in 2003.
Esperanto for beginners
I have taught Esperanto for beginners at various times in Oslo and Ljubljana. It’s been a while.
